The existing 500 square foot one bedroom guesthouse is redesigned into a permanent 800 square foot living space for the owners. Fenestration is arranged to maintain privacy in the bedroom and bathroom; promote a stronger connection with the outdoor garden, farm and views; and create a more expansive feel to the modest space. The pitched roof provides a southern-oriented angle for mounting solar panels and northern clerestories.
